Thousands Experiencing Power in South-East Queensland and Victorian Regions Following Intense Weather Systems
Nearly 25,000 homes in southeastern Queensland found themselves without power on Monday morning after severe thunderstorms swept through the state, bringing powerful gusts topping 109km/h.
Large Ice Stones and Broad Destruction
Locals reported substantial frozen pellets measuring up to 7cm in particular locations. The Bureau of Meteorology confirmed that different parts across the state had been affected by substantial ice precipitation.

Response teams were focused on reestablishing energy supply throughout the damaged zones, with approximately seventy teams activated to handle the widespread outages.
Victorian Storm Challenges
Simultaneously, nearly 1,000 energy customers in Victoria also encountered electricity disruptions after the metropolitan area experienced its most precipitation in 18 months.
Emergency response teams responded to 598 emergency reports across the state, mostly for building damage but also for fallen timber and inundation.

Humid circumstances were forecast to persist along much of eastern Queensland this week as a weather pattern continued to draw in moisture against the coastal areas.
The following day was predicted as the wettest day, with ongoing storm activity expected across multiple regions of both states.

Medical authorities cautioned that there was an increased chance of thunderstorm-induced asthma across the countryside regions, especially given the current weather patterns.
